Internet Marketing is fun, easier than you think, and it is a really profitable way to make a living – all you need is the right training and tools!  I know, everyone out there is telling you how easy it is to make a million dollars a year if you just follow their tactics, and some of them are legitimate with the practices they teach and the internet marketing products that they offer; most of them however are just using you to make money!

It’s crazy to think that you can sit back and let some software make you thousands of dollars a day while you are sipping on coladas in the Bahamas, but don’t let that discourage you!  You can make a real business that has a strong foundation and generates you income greater than you ever thought possible and it will get to a point where your website will be self sustaining, requiring little work from you!

Would you rather work really hard for 5 years or work at a moderate pace for 35 years?  Internet marketing is an industry that is so scalable and you aren’t held back by anything beyond your own self desire and work ethic.

Don’t Get Discouraged

The number one thing that scared me when I got started was, “how am I going to make any money with internet marketing when there are so many people out there doing it already.”  I can tell you this right off the bat, the market is NEVER too saturated, you just have to approach it with the right angle.  Think about it… are people ever going to want to stop losing weight or learning how to train their dogs?  There are always going to be problems that people need help or advice on and there lies your opportunity to deliver them what they need.

Another thing I discovered quickly was that just because a site sits at number one on Google today doesn’t mean that you can’t easily take over that spot.  A lot of things can happen, for all you know that number one site may not have been updated for a few months and since everyone thinks they couldn’t possibly rank for that term, no one even bothers making a website.  That’s when you come along, and push your site to the top!

The internet really is yours for the taking and you can get whatever it is you want as long as you put forth the hard work and apply the appropriate methods.  There are so many ways you can make money online and one of those ways is bound to be something you are good at.  Then you just have to apply yourself to that completely and you will succeed, DEMAND success and you can’t fail!

Internet Marketing Training

Here are some simple steps to help you get started with internet marketing.  While there are constantly new strategies and tactics you can use to increase your effectiveness, these are the basic ground rules that will always apply.

Give people what they want - People use the internet to get information about a topic they are interested in, so give them that information!  It seems silly to say but a lot of web marketers get so caught up in making money that they forget they need to provide value to the people searching for their website.  If I want some information about how to scuba dive and I get to a website that only tries to sell me scuba equipment when it’s call “howtoscubadive.com,” that just doesn’t make much sense.  Know your audience and deliver on the promise of your website and you will make sales!

Create a unique and pleasant experience - Have you ever been on one of those adsense sites that is just full of ads with no content?  I can’t tell you how pissed off I am every time I land on a page like that!  I don’t know why it angers me so much but when I’m searching for information and I arrive on a cluttered site with tons of popups I just feel like I wasted an hour of my day even though it took me 30 seconds.  Being from the east coast I am always in a hurry so maybe that is why.

The bottom line is make a site that gives a pleasant user experience and you will have a huge leg up in creating an effective marketing tool.  Would you buy a house if you walked into a cluttered, messy, dirty open house?  No…so apply the same mindset to your website and you can’t go wrong!  Just follow the advice of your first grade teacher, “treat others as you want to be treated.”

Follow Search Engine Optimization Guidelines - That dreaded acronym (SEO)!  I know we all hate it but in today’s world no matter what kind of site you create, you’re going to have to do some SEO to get your site to the top of the search rankings and doing so will only give you more traffic!  SEO and marketing go hand in hand but it’s not as hard as it seems.  Simply write good content, know what keywords you are after, and you will be set.  Of course there are more specific aspects of SEO but just by following these basic principals will help everything else fall into place.
